yes!

I'm just going to add on to all of Kaur's posts today...

Tegan's (print for the Love Unites Shepard Fairey Equality Project - For the FAIR organization + awareness for marriage equality):

and Sara's:

Pretty awesome, if you ask me.

Love, Keiko.

obey.

shepard fairey has come under some controversy as to his artwork.
i still think its pretty legit.
he started off in the skateboarding scene and got involved in streetart.
now he's responsible for the iconic obama 'hope' poster.

i was going through my old email's inbox today and found a million forwards that i kept.
i can't believe i forgot about julian beever!

they are pretty sweet.
i'm just going to let you go ahead and ch-ch-check em out here.

fuck stats.

Standard deviation destroyed my mark in math in grade 12.  Guess what... It's going to destroy my stats mark on this assignment I'm working on+midterm tomorrow. Eff. I don't know why, but standard deviation+keiko just does not work. So, instead of working on it let's check out this wikipedia entry that one of my BFFs sent to me...

(Plus, who's stoked on the new season of SYTYCD?!)

Love, Keiko.

P.S. Once I get myself caught up in all my courses (I am determined!)/midterms are finished I plan to start blogging more/being more interesting.

oh jimmy.

this may not be the greatest art.
it is pretty kitsch.
however i still kinda like it for its novelty value.

give me your eyes, i need sunshine.

i made this mix for a friend of mine for her birthday (please excuse my careless typing mistake on chad vangaalen!)

the playlist took me quite a while to come up with, and then even longer to narrow down.  i couldn't come up with a fitting theme, so i decided to go with "some of my favourites" (i have too many favourites) - some of the songs i don't listen to anymore/forgot about/haven't listened to in years, but have at some point been my fave (tracks 4, 5, 9, 17... more recently - 1, 2, 7, 17, 19).  some of the songs are my all-time faves (tracks 6, 8, 11, 12, 14, 16, 20).  and some of the songs are current faves (all the other tracks).

i'm not sure if the photo is big enough to read...

1.  everybody say - takka takka
2.  my year in lists - los campesinos!
3.  it doesn't have to be beautiful - slow club
4.  wing finger - chad vangaalen
5.  mr. pitiful - matt costa
6.  be the one - melanie c
7.  sweepstakes prize - mirah
8.  underwater - tegan and sara
9.  contrast and compare - bright eyes
10.  skinny love - bon iver
11.  anthems for a seventeen year old girl - bss
12.  calendar girl - stars
13.  i'm goin' down - florence and the machine
14.  styrofoam boots/it's all nice on ice, alright - modest
mouse
15.  fans - kings of leon
16.  almost summer - jason collett
17.  tko - le tigre
18.  tu es beau - yelle
19.  sunshowers (diplo mix) - m.i.a.
20.  i'll believe anything - wolf parade

love, keiko.

dope.

instead of doing something productive (example: complete things off my many to-do lists) i hit the urban outfitters website and made myself a short "wishlist" (i managed to stay away from the clothes/shoes section of the website).  here are some of my faves!

(so recycle this note/who needs trees?)

 artists series sticky notes.

 i love these!

i love jellyfish, i need jellyfish art.

also on my wishlist: ipod boom box, fisheye camera, lomo diana dreamer camera, jewelry box, key hook, shelves.

giraffe.

i think that this website is pretty awesome  the photographic dictionary.  pretty straightforward... using photos to define words.  "the photographic dictionary is dedicated to defining words through the literal, figurative, and personal meanings found in each photograph."  i was happy to find that the following words were on it:  afterthought, connection, cluster, disarray, giraffe, glow, intensity, keepsake, no, pool, purpose, removed, and water-canon.  (giraffe made me the happiest).

love keiko.

p.s.  i came across the website through www.themodernleisure.com

mixtape.

i mentioned before how i am a big fan of mix cds.  i have made a (short!) list of reasons why i love making them.

1.  making cases for my mixes!  i don't make cases for the ones that i make for myself, and i don't make people mixes very often - but when i do, i love making an insert that goes with it + cover art.  i wish that i knew my way around my computer a little better so that i could make them even sweeter... but i like to think that my collaging skills are good enough.

2. ordering the songs.  i love making my mixes flow nicely/make the songs fit together perfectly.  usually i will just throw together a bunch of songs that i love, and then spend hours putting them in the perfect order.  again, i tend not to do this for my own mixes, but if i am making it for someone else this is an essential step.

3.  i want my mixes to be special, i like to do as much as i can to make them perfect.

example:
shitty quality picture, but we were pretty proud of this! "blake & taryn's infinite playlist, volume I"

i wish that i had pictures of the inside/back/sides because i loved them.

playlist: (this was SO hard to order, some of the songs don't fit together as nicely as i wanted - collaboration mixes are tough).
*everybody say - takka takka
*holiday - alberta hammond, jr.
*5 years time - noah and the whale
*how many - tender forever
*true or false - bishop allen
walcott - vampire weekend
*tu es beau - yelle
oslo in the summertime - of montreal
don't trust me - 3oh!3
here (in your arms) - hellogoodbye
sex on fire - kings of leon
sic transit gloria... glory fades - brand new
this modern love - bloc party
*bruises - chairlift
tiny paintings - architecture in helsinki
*lovers who uncover - the little ones
*city water - the 1900s

the starred songs=my picks for the mix.

love keiko.

banksy.

keiko and kaur were talking about graffiti.
kaur was trying to tell a story about a rad graffiti artist.
it went sorta like this:
"there's this really sweet graffiti artist, i dont remeber his name, but he's got mad skills"
"good story..."
well i actually can't remember how the convo went at all.

anyways...introducing banksy!
