So I tagged along to the New Pornographers show last night, I've only listened to them a little bit (and pretty much love every song I've heard, like this song... Adventures In Solitude). What a disappointing performance! They weren't very engaging and didn't seem to be prepared to be playing. Too bad. (I do really like them though, and they sounded good... when they weren't making mistakes).

Now just looking forward to the An Horse show on Thursday.

Love, Keiko.

A Take Away Show

Spent my evening re-watching some of my favourite videos HERE.

This is a beauty:

Love, Keiko.

Thursday, May 27, 2010

Its like you said, this is way too tough.

This is my current fave song.

Love, Keiko.

Saturday, May 22, 2010

I love TV.

Season finale time = Not a fun time of the year. All the cliff hangers are so intense and so exciting, and then waiting until the fall is painful. Gossip Girl and Grey's Anatomy... WHAT.

Love, Keiko.

That's it.

I just got home from a quick road trip to Vancouver.

I didn't miss Calgary at all.

Let's move to Vancouver forever.

Love, Keiko.

this fits.

scanners is a band signed to steve aoki's dim mak label.
i like.

i seriously wish i had something cool to report...
however, other than listening to lots of music i'm at a loss.
i was loving the hot hot heat earlier this week, but i also am enjoying some rain.
it smells so fresh and sweet out.
lets talk about movies i want to see:

- the trotsky
- dinner for schmucks (july 23rd)
- the other guys (august 6th)
- true grit (december 25th)
- the rum diary
- you will meet a tall dark stranger

actually...after looking through movie releases for the year there are very few that i'm actually excited about. what a let down. well, lets instead just watch a funny jimmy kimmel clip.

come on and get the minimum.

i don't really have any music lists lately, but i have been listening to some really great albums including forgiveness rock record (broken social scene), weapons grade romantic (dojo workhorse), smoking gun (lady of the sunshine), and broken bells (broken bells). on that note this single by broken bells is amazing:
the high road

Sunday, May 9, 2010

I'm just surviving.

No top five last week (excuse=out of town).

1. Sentimental X's - Broken Social Scene
2. Reach You - Michael Bernard Fitzgerald
3. Cover My Eyes - La Roux
4. I Got a Life - Dojo Workhorse
5. Over It Over Again - Sally Seltmann

Love, Keiko

Thursday, May 6, 2010

i'll believe in anything.

i really like this song, and the last post reminded me to post this video.

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

give me your eyes, i need sunshine.

it's not winter anymore...i want sun.

Sunday, May 2, 2010

take me to higher ground.

higher ground is one of my favourite coffee establishments in calgary.
i haven't met anyone that hasn't liked it, to be fair.
its a great independently owned cafe that serves organic drinks.
just a sweet spot with a great atmosphere.
however, what truly sets higher ground apart for me is one drink:
the dublin mist.
a mix of an english breakfast tea and irish creme, its the bees knees.
i don't know of anywhere else that serves this, but they should.
it is amazing.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

I ran away.

Today: Last exam + off to Toronto and Montreal.

I think that Mumford & Sons is an unreal band (Have I blogged about them before? Probs not, maybe just in a top5 or top10). These videos are prettyyy awesome:

And THIS song is my current fave.

Love, Keiko.

Monday, April 26, 2010

Please note my happiness about Kaur posting the video for Home.

I fell in love with this song at the start of February, and ever since it has been on nearly every mix that I have made (3/5 but one of those was made for the friend who got me to into Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, so her mix doesn't count - 3/4).

So good.

Love, Keiko.

(And if I had been blogging it would have been on at least six of the nine weekly ten posts I would have made... well, that's a lie, because I try not to have repeats on my weekly tens - but I do just love this song).

home is wherever i'm with you.

after a bit of a break i'm thinking i'm ready to get back on here.
i can't wait for summer.

i'm going to follow keiko's lead and post a music video.
i've loved this song for awhile and i like the feeling of this video.

Thursday, April 22, 2010

It has been 64 days.

I'm feeling motivated to get back to the blog.

Maybe it's because a break was all that I needed.
Maybe it's the feeling that summertime is just about to set in.

Or maybe it's just something about exam time (anything but studying).

"I could have meant it if you let me"

Anyway. While waking up from my early evening nap, the song Market Fresh by Broken Social Scene was playing. I completely forgot that this song even exists, soso beautiful.

(This song isn't on hypem.com + this is the only youtube vid I could find)

Love, Keiko.

p.s. Speaking of... I've been on a huge BSS kick for the past week or so, and the new album leaked (and I couldn't stop myself from downloading it). AMAZINGAMAZINGAMAZING.

p.p.s. A friend of mine had never heard BSS before so I attempted to make a mix titled "Broken Social Scene: Essential Songs"... it was impossible to choose what made it on.

in our defence we have both been busy.
school. work. and everything else.
unfortunately the health of this blog is deteriorating.
sooo...we may need to take an indefinite hiatus.
or just be slower with our updates.
i'm not sure of what the future holds.
but hopefully you'll stick around with us :)

Coachella, please.

I have always wanted to go to Coachella, ever since I discovered an advertisment for it back in 2003 (also the year that I started listening to music that was not Destiny's Child). I thinkevery year after I read the lineup I want to go even more than the previous year... it makes me feel sad.

This year I am going to Sasquatch though (and can't wait to hear the lineup...), which will be amazing... but is not my dream of hitting up Coachella.

Perez Hilton Boy Band...

It's been a while since we've posted about Perez....

Is this really necessary? Ugh. http://perezhilton.com/2010-01-14-our-big-news

Love, Keiko.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

My sister showed me this gem of a video today.

I haven't watched Jersey Shore, and have no intention of watching it... but I think this is amazing. Maybe just because I love Michael.

Love, Keiko.

Today was the second day back at school. I slept through my alarm, which means I slept through both of my classes for the day. Oops. Anyway, I've been really into this website for the past couple weeks:

Love, Keiko.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Next week.

Again, I think I am too boring to post my weekly ten. It would all just be Tegan and Sara songs - since in preparation for their concert (which was excellent) I created a playlist of my faves and listened to it on repeat all week. Next week, it'll be a good one.

Love, Keiko.

Friday, January 8, 2010

cudi kicks it.

another one of my faves of '09.
kid cudi.
just bringing it with some sweet songs.

We are sharks.

I saw Up In The Air a couple weeks back and figured I'd get around to doing a QUICK review of it...

Rating: B+

I really liked this movie, I thought the casting was amazing, and it was funny, and it was interesting, and it made you think a little. My thoughts on it are basically the same as Kaur's (HERE)... only I didn't love it, I just really liked it. The only thing that kept me from full on loving it was the end, the end doesn't fall in line with what I believe - but for the movie, I guess it was decent.

Oh, and Anna Kendrick (Bella's friend from Twilight...) is amazing, and hilarious. I was pretty suprised by her.

That's all.

Love, Keiko.

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Hold onto me.

I'm hitting the Tegan & Sara concert tomorrow with my sister, and am getting prettyyyy stoked about it! In preparation I've been listening to all of my fave t+s songs, watching youtube videos of them, and looking at photos of them. Here are just a few (of MANY) that I love:

Love, Keiko.
